Feedback on Our Recent Visit to Banana Island, Qatar Unfortunately, our experience at Banana Island was very disappointing compared to our visit five years ago. Back then, the hospitality, service, and overall experience were much better. This time, we noticed several issues that seriously affected our visit. 1. Reception and Welcome The welcome was not as warm or professional as it used to be five years ago, but they seemed shy and unenthusiastic. The reception lacked the energy, warmth, and hospitality we remembered from our previous visit. 2. Food and Service at ALAzrak Restaurant The buffet was very poor. No one came to our table to ask if we would like something to drink, which is a basic expectation for a resort of this standard.The food handling and buffet maintenance were also concerning. The vine leaves bad taste and smell apparently because they had been left at an unsuitable temperature outside the restaurant (in the fridge but the temperature was high and the fridge door always open with no one handling the buffet.Although they were placed in a refrigerator, its door was constantly left open, and no staff member seemed to be monitoring it. Furthermore, there was hardly anyone attending to the buffet, and the food was not replenished regularly. Items were running out, and the staff were not refilling them in a timely manner. 3. Ferry Transportation The seats on the ferry we took to Banana Island were wet and damp. This was uncomfortable and gave a poor first impression before we even arrived at the resort. 4. Restrooms and Shower Facilities The restroom and shower facilities inside the island were in very poor condition. The floors were dirty, and the shower area was not properly maintained. Towels were left scattered on the floor, and the overall cleanliness was far below what we would expect from a resort of this category. 5. Maintenance and General Condition The lockers were rusty, and the overall condition of the facilities was disappointing.Unfortunately, the resort gave us the impression of a neglected or almost abandoned island rather than a well-maintained luxury destination. Final Remarks: Banana Island used to offer a much more memorable experience, and our visit five years ago left us with very positive impressions. This time, however, the decline in hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and maintenance was extremely noticeable. For a resort of this standard, we expected much better service and attention to detail. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues, because the island has great potential, but the current state of the facilities and services does not reflect the experience guests should receive.

We were very pleased with our Villa host Jill, she was very professional and explained everything really well. Our stay didn’t start great but once she took over she made us really comfortable in our stay and was on top of everything.
