Turning 31 on the 31st of October, which also happened to be Halloween, made this birthday extra special! During my first-ever solo birthday getaway at Avani Kalutara, I also had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful facilities and experiences at Anantara Kalutara, conveniently located within walking distance. One thing I particularly appreciated was the wonderful collaboration and sense of togetherness between the two sister properties. Although I was staying at Avani, I was warmly invited to participate in the Christmas Cake Mixing event held at Anantara Kalutara. It was such a lovely gesture and a wonderful example of how both properties work together to create memorable experiences for their guests. The Christmas Cake Mixing event was very well organized, with a lovely selection of food and beverages. The General Manager was engaging, incredibly humble, and had such a wonderful personality. It was lovely to witness such genuine hospitality. From the moment I stepped into Anantara, I was drawn to its elegant interiors, peaceful ambiance, and beautiful surroundings overlooking the lagoon and the ocean. The atmosphere was incredibly calming, making it a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a little escape. The Halloween dinner buffet was another highlight. The presentation was creative, and even the dish names were thoughtfully designed, making the entire dining experience fun and memorable. Breakfast was equally enjoyable, with a good selection of food, plenty of fresh juices, and a variety of dairy options. A special thank you to Dinesh, who kindly took me on a buggy ride to show me the way when I got lost. Danusha, with his extensive experience in Food & Beverage, was exceptionally hospitable and made the experience even more enjoyable. A special mention to Prageeth as well for his genuine hospitality and warm approach, which truly added to the experience. My heartfelt thanks also go to Ashrane and Ashen for their warmth and hospitality throughout my stay. What stood out the most was the genuine warmth of the team, the peaceful atmosphere, and the thoughtful way both properties complement each other. It was lovely to experience such wonderful hospitality even as a solo traveller. I would highly recommend spending at least two nights at each property to fully explore and enjoy everything these beautiful properties have to offer. A truly memorable birthday experience, and I look forward to returning!
